Compatibility
Which Minecraft servers MCTotem supports today, and what each connection method gives you.
MCTotem targets Java Edition servers running Paper or Spigot. This page is the authoritative list of what works right now.
Fully supported
| Requirement | Supported |
|---|---|
| Server software | Paper, Spigot, and forks built on the Bukkit API such as Purpur and Pufferfish |
| Minecraft version | 1.19 or newer |
| Java | 17 or newer |
| Proxies | Velocity and BungeeCord, with the agent plugin on each backend server |
With the agent plugin installed you get everything: log watching, crash capture, TPS and memory metrics, plugin inventory, approved fixes, and test player verification.
On a proxy network, install the agent plugin on your backend servers as usual. The test player also needs the doorman plugin on the proxy itself, which the setup wizard walks you through.
Watching only, through a Pterodactyl panel
If you cannot install a plugin, MCTotem can connect through a Pterodactyl panel instead. This works whatever the server runs, because it reads the panel console rather than the server itself.
What you get: error diagnosis and memory metrics.
What you do not get:
- TPS readings
- player counts
- applied fixes, since there is no plugin to execute and verify a signed action
- the test player, which needs the plugin to report how the server handles logins
Both connection methods can be swapped later without losing history.
Not supported yet
- Fabric, Forge and NeoForge
- Vanilla servers
- Bedrock Edition servers
The agent plugin is built on the Bukkit API, so it does not load on these. A Fabric or vanilla server on a Pterodactyl panel can still be watched through the panel, with the limits listed above.
The Log Doctor reads any Java Edition server log you paste, whatever produced it, with no account. Diagnoses are strongest for Paper and Spigot, because that is where our error corpus comes from.
