1. Who we are
MCTotem ("the service", "we", available at mctotem.app) is an independently operated service based in Quebec, Canada. Contact: [email protected].
2. The service
MCTotem provides diagnostics for Minecraft servers: the public Log Doctor analysis tool, optional server monitoring via our agent plugin or a Pterodactyl panel connection, a web dashboard, a Discord bot, and an optional test player (section 5).
Monitoring is observe-only by default. It does not modify, write to, or execute commands on your server unless you enable the action system and turn on a specific class of action for that server. Actions are off on every server until you enable them, each action is recorded in an audit log you can review, and you can disable them at any time.
3. Accounts
You are responsible for your account credentials and for activity under your organization. You must provide a valid email address. Accounts may be registered with email/password or Discord sign-in.
4. Acceptable use
- Only connect servers you own or administer, and only submit logs you are entitled to share.
- Only point the test player at servers you own or administer. Directing it at anyone else's server is a breach of these terms and may be unlawful.
- Do not submit content that is unlawful, or that deliberately contains other people's personal data. We redact IP addresses and player names automatically, but you remain responsible for what you paste.
- Do not attempt to disrupt the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or evade rate limits.
5. The test player
If you turn it on, MCTotem can join your server as a player to check that it works: that the world loads, that commands respond, and that players can connect. It is off on every server until you enable it. It joins under a username you choose, is granted no permissions by default, and leaves when the check finishes. Each session is capped at 10 minutes.
You must own or administer the server you point it at. We check the address you give us against the server your agent plugin connects from. When that check cannot confirm a match, which is normal behind a proxy or a hosting front-end, we ask you to confirm ownership and we record that you did.
How the test player is authorized depends on how your server is set up. On a server running in online mode without a proxy, it signs in with a Minecraft account you link (section 6). On a proxied network, a plugin you install on your own proxy admits it, and you control that plugin. On a server already running in offline mode, it connects the same way any other client does.
What a test records is described in the Privacy Policy. In short: readings about the world around the bot, and, when a test checks for a message in chat, the matching line with player names and IP addresses removed.
6. Linked Minecraft accounts
To use the test player on a server running in online mode, you link a Minecraft account through Microsoft's sign-in. Please read this section before you do.
- Use a spare account, not your main one. Do not link an account you play on or care about.
- You must own the account you link. Do not link an account belonging to someone else.
- We never receive your password. You sign in directly with Microsoft. We receive only a revocable access token, which we store encrypted.
- The account stays yours. You can remove it from MCTotem at any time, which deletes the stored token, and you can revoke our access from your Microsoft account settings independently of us.
- We use it only for your own servers. A linked account is used solely to run tests against servers in your own organization, and never for anything else.
Your use of a Minecraft account remains subject to Mojang's and Microsoft's own terms. You are responsible for ensuring that linking an account is permitted under them.
7. Log Doctor permalinks are public
Every Log Doctor analysis gets a permanent, publicly accessible link that may be indexed by search engines. Do not paste anything you are not comfortable publishing. Redaction of IPs and player names is applied before storage, but the remaining log content is public.
8. Diagnoses are advice, not guarantees
Diagnoses, fix suggestions and test reports are generated automatically (including by AI models) and may be wrong. A passing test does not mean your server is healthy, and a failing test does not always mean it is broken. Always keep backups before applying changes to your server. The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law where you live allows that.
The limit below does not apply to you if the law where you live does not permit it. In particular, it does not apply to consumers in Quebec, and it never applies to injury caused by our intentional or gross fault, or to bodily or moral injury. Where the law does permit a limit, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before a claim.
9. Paid plans
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly per organization through Paddle, our merchant of record, and can be cancelled at any time from the billing page; access continues until the end of the paid period. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice. Refunds are covered by the refund policy.
10. Termination
You can ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to [email protected] (see the Privacy Policy for what is deleted). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
11. Where we operate
MCTotem is operated from Quebec, Canada. Consumer protection law in the place where you live may give you rights that an agreement like this one cannot take away, and nothing here is intended to remove them.
12. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the dashboard at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
